SEM Studio is part of a rapidly expanding specialist software and web development house.

The people we are looking for are: -

1. Web Designer

Essential Skills: HTML, CSS, Photoshop (or similar), Illustrator (or similar). You will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of information design as well as graphic design. A healthy obsession with aesthetic detail and quality of finish will serve you well. You will have your finger on the pulse of the world wide web. You will believe in and be passionate about CSS.

Desirable skills: Flash, PHP & mySQL (or similar). JavaScript. Ajax. Photography.

Salary £15 - £25k depending on experience.

2. Web Developer / Programmer

Essential: PHP & MySQL (or similar), JavaScript, HTML and CSS. You will need to be passionate about programming. You will share our belief that code is poetry. You will have some server & networking administrative skills. You will care about standards. You will take pride in clean code. You will have your finger on the pulse of web technology.

Desirable: Design skills - use of Photoshop or similar.

Salary £12 - £20k depending on experience.

3. Project Manager - Web Site Design and Development

Essential: Web site development & project management experience. General web design skills - HTML, CSS, Photoshop etc. Must be able to project-manage large commercial web site and application development projects. Excellent time management and inter-personal skills. Customer facing. Perfectionist. Passionate. Team player.

Desirable: Graphic design, programming, design & layout skills.

At least 1 year experience in similar role is highly desirable. Examples of work will help.

Salary £20 - £35k depending on experience.

Since starting my time at SEM Solutions I have learnt a lot about PHP, as before starting I had never even seen PHP! However I feel I have come along way and now am confidently creating small packages using the codebase for forms and databases, as well as templating.

This week I started work on WRC which is now as complete as it be until relevant information changes hands. Next week holds more serious work, as we will start working collaboratively on a large project. Bring it on!!

I’m delighted to say that the team here at SEM Solutions has grown somewhat since I last posted to this site. Simon Cadman and Chris Wooldridge have both joined as application developers working closely with Adam Dowling who has now been here just over a year. This is a testement to the hard work that Adam has put in for the last 6 months and the positive organic growth that SEM is experiencing. We also have a young marketing student working here on a placement. Carole Lizekne is working here during the summer holiday on a placement from her college in the Reunion Islands.
